To celebrate the 2015 release of Kyra and Tully’s latest EP titled Journey Home, we put in some serious time and energy working with the pair of local, indie folk rock heroes crafting the perfect online presence. The design for the duo’s new site was inspired by the album’s cover art, which prominently features a painting by the talented Mike Bayne; it could easily pass as a photograph. The header is clad in a familiar muted green and the footer that is accentuated by a burst of bright orange. The ‘Kyra and Tully’ logo, random orange triangles and photo corners were all pulled in from the album cover and one sheet respectively. Combined, these eclectic elements give the mobile-ready/responsive site a crafty, scrapbook feel while ensuring a professional aesthetic. A ton of impressive features have been carefully woven into the site including a Mail Chimp newsletter sign up form, upcoming performances calendar, Facebook feed and ‘like’ boxes, as well as a vast portfolio that draws media from SoundCloud, YouTube and Vimeo. Kyra and Tully’s entire body of work is prominently on display as visitors can browse and read lyrics from their favourite songs and albums, as well as purchase albums and other merch from their virtual storefront.
