Kingstonist is a collaborative, online community that focuses on everything and anything going on in Kingston, Ontario. HC2 founded the site in March of 2008, as a part of our effort to give back to the local community. When the time came to celebrate Kingstonist’s first anniversary in 2009, we decided to give the site a complete overhaul, and slightly freshen up the logo. This updated logo includes the same iconic Kingston landmarks as before (City Hall, Murney Tower, Time sculpture) as well as a new one (turbines from the Wolfe Island Wind Farm). The end result improves the look of the site, and better reflects the cityscape.

HC2 has also provided Kingstonist with graphic design services to produce various banner advertisements. While the site is primarily owned and operated by HC2, it remains a collective effort that draws upon the talent of various writers, photographers and creative types within Kingston. In order to attract new readers and contributors, we developed a pair of banner advertisements featuring Kingston’s favourite son, Sir John A. MacDonald. Both the RSS and Team ads were designed to convey a sense of playfulness, and teamwork.
